Impeller & Cam Replacement

Precision Bearing Pressing
A weeping pump means saltwater is attacking your bearings. We use hydraulic presses to remove seized bearings and seat new, high-load OEM replacements to ensure a perfectly smooth rotation.
Shaft & Seal Restoration
We inspect the drive shaft for grooving. If the mechanical lip seals have scored the shaft, a new seal will still leak. We polish the shaft or replace it entirely to guarantee a watertight fit.

Extraction
We carefully unbolt the pump from the block, disconnecting raw water hoses and gear drives while ensuring no coolant or oil cross-contamination occurs.
Teardown & Ultrasonic
The pump is completely disassembled. The bronze housing is ultrasonically cleaned to remove years of calcium scale, rust, and salt buildup.
Component Assembly
We press in new ceramic mechanical seals, lip seals, and bearings. The shaft is installed, and a fresh impeller is lubricated and seated with the correct vane orientation.
Reinstallation
The rebuilt pump is mounted back to the engine. We replace the mounting gaskets/O-rings, prime the system, and run the engine to verify proper flow and zero leaks.

Common Questions
Why is water dripping from the bottom of my pump?
That is the "weep hole." It is designed to let water escape if the internal water seal fails. If it's dripping, saltwater is dangerously close to entering your engine bearings. A rebuild is required immediately.
Should I buy a new pump or rebuild?
Original bronze pumps (like Sherwood or Jabsco) are incredibly high quality. Rebuilding replaces all the wearing parts at a fraction of the cost of a brand new OEM pump, while keeping superior metal casting.
