Extraction
We carefully unbolt the pump from the block, disconnecting raw water hoses and gear drives while ensuring no coolant or oil cross-contamination occurs.
Teardown & Ultrasonic
The pump is completely disassembled. The bronze housing is ultrasonically cleaned to remove years of calcium scale, rust, and salt buildup.
Component Assembly
We press in new ceramic mechanical seals, lip seals, and bearings. The shaft is installed, and a fresh impeller is lubricated and seated with the correct vane orientation.
Reinstallation

Common Questions
Why is water dripping from the bottom of my pump?
That is the "weep hole." The water pump weep hole is designed to let water escape if the internal water seal fails. If it's dripping, saltwater is dangerously close to entering your engine bearings. A rebuild is required immediately.
Should I buy a new pump or rebuild?
Original bronze pumps, such as a Sherwood raw water pump or a Jabsco pump, are incredibly high quality. Rebuilding replaces all the wearing parts at a fraction of the cost of a brand new OEM pump, while keeping superior metal casting.
When to Book Marine Pump Repair
Plan marine pump repair if the temperature gauge creeps up at cruising RPM, less water than usual leaves the exhaust, or salt crust builds up around the pump body. These are early signs of a tired impeller, a worn cam or a failing seal in the marine engine cooling system.
