Joining

Before a plan starts

We look after a boat under a plan only when we know it is in good working order. So every plan starts with four things.

  1. A full inspection

Engines and drives, fuel, electrical and batteries, plumbing and pumps, steering and controls, safety gear, and the hull as far as it can be seen. $375 for a boat up to 30 ft with one engine; bigger boats are quoted.

  2. The boat's history

Service and repair records, the last haul-out and bottom paint, and the last survey if there is one. Invoices, logs and photos all help.

  3. The boat's details

Make, model, year and length, the hull ID (HIN), the engines with their hours, and where the boat is kept.

  4. Your details

Full name, phone, email and mailing address, and anyone else who may approve work on the boat.

If the inspection finds something unsafe or close to failing, you get a written fix list with a quote. The plan starts once those items are fixed, by us or by another shop, and checked.

Four steps

How it works

  1. Apply

Send the application: one ticket with the plan, your details and the boat's records.

  2. Intake inspection

We inspect the boat at your slip, dock or storage yard and send you the report.

  3. Fix list

Anything unsafe or close to failing is fixed first. Nothing is done without your OK.

  4. Checkups start

On the schedule you picked, with a photo report after every visit.

Good to know

Questions

What happens when a checkup finds a problem?

You see it in the report, with photos and a quote. Nothing is repaired without your OK, and as a member you pay less for the labor.

Are parts included?

Small supplies used during a checkup are included, and Premium includes small fluid top-ups. Parts and repairs are quoted first and billed on their own. Pro+ includes up to 30 minutes of small fixes at each checkup.

Where do you do the checkups?

At your slip, dock or storage yard from Marina del Rey to Newport Beach. We group plan visits by marina, which is part of what keeps the prices down.

My boat is over 30 ft or has two engines.

The prices here are for boats up to 30 ft with one engine. For bigger boats, twin engines and generators, we price the plan after the intake inspection.

How long does a plan run?

Twelve months, paid monthly.
