Do you offer mobile boat repair in Dana Point Harbor?

Dana Point Harbor is past our regular area (Marina del Rey to Newport Beach), but you can ask: put the harbor, slip and job in your ticket and we will tell you if we can schedule a visit. Harbors past Newport Beach have a trip fee of $25 plus $2.50 a mile, one way.

Can you fix both outboard and inboard engines?

Absolutely. We repair outboards, inboards, and sterndrives – diesel or gasoline.

Do I need to haul my boat for service?

Usually not. Most engine, electrical, fuel and cooling repairs are done where the boat is kept. Work below the waterline, such as drive, bellows or gimbal bearing jobs and hull damage, needs the boat out of the water; the haul-out is the yard's charge and is listed on your estimate.

How much does a one-time repair cost?

Labor is $150 an hour, plus a trip fee by distance for each visit: $75 in Huntington Harbour, $110 in Newport Beach. A diagnosis is at least $300 for each engine and $300 for the electrical system; then you get a written estimate for labor, parts and the trip fee, and nothing is done without your OK. Can you polish and fix fiberglass damage on-site?

Yes, for cosmetic work: we repair gelcoat chips and small non-structural fiberglass damage above the waterline and polish the boat at the dock. Structural damage is referred to a boatyard.

What's included in a boat care plan?

Our Basic, Premium and Pro+ boat care plans include scheduled checkups at the boat, a photo report after each and no trip fee on any visit. Members get 10%, 15% or 20% off repair labor (by plan) and 10% off parts we install. You join with a full inspection, from $1,500 for a boat up to 25 ft with one engine; plan prices and details are on our boat care plans page. A plan is not insurance or a warranty.
