About this service

A fleet earns money only while its boats are on the water. Boat fleet maintenance from Breeze Marine Boat Service keeps charter, rental, club, company and work boats on a schedule built around your season, so routine service is done in rotation and the boats are not all out of service at the same time. We work from our San Pedro shop and service boats at their slips across Long Beach and San Pedro, which makes us a practical choice for boat fleet maintenance in Long Beach and for fleet boat service in San Pedro.

Fleets we work with

  • Charter fleets: charter boat maintenance planned around bookings, with checks between trips and larger jobs in quieter weeks.
  • Rental and club fleets: rental boat fleet maintenance for boats driven by many different people, where wear shows up quickly in propellers, steering, batteries and gelcoat.
  • Company boats and work boats: workboat maintenance and commercial boat maintenance for tenders, crew boats and other boats a business depends on every day.

How fleet maintenance works

1. Fleet list and walk-through

We start with a list of your boats: make, model, engines, engine hours, slip locations and recent service history. Then we walk the docks and look at each boat, so the plan starts from its real condition and not from paperwork alone.

2. A rotating fleet maintenance schedule

We build a fleet maintenance schedule that takes boats out of service in turn: engine service on the intervals the engine maker sets, cooling and fuel system checks, batteries and charging, bilge pumps and float switches, steering and controls, and running gear. Boats that run the most hours are serviced more often than boats that mostly sit.

3. Work at the slip, haul-outs when needed

Most routine work is done at the slip through our mobile boat service, so boats do not have to be moved. Jobs that need the boat out of the water are planned for a boatyard or for our San Pedro shop.

4. A service record for every boat

Each boat gets its own record: what was checked, what was replaced and what should be planned next. When a boat is sold, insured or handed to a new skipper, its history is in one place.

Repairs and approvals

Anything a scheduled visit finds is quoted in writing first, and nothing is done without the approval of the person you name for your fleet. When a boat breaks down between scheduled visits, contact us and we arrange a visit, the same way as our dockside breakdown repair.

Contract terms

Every boat fleet service contract is quoted individually. The list of boats, the schedule, what each visit includes, how repairs are approved and how billing works are agreed in writing before the first visit, and the agreement can change as your fleet grows or shrinks. There is no fixed minimum number of boats. As an independent marine service, we work on outboard, inboard and sterndrive engines, gasoline and diesel, so a mixed fleet can stay with one team. Our workmanship is warranted for 90 days from the invoice date; parts carry their manufacturer's warranty.

Questions about fleet maintenance

Can you service boats kept at different marinas?

Yes. Boats can sit at different slips in Long Beach and San Pedro; the schedule groups visits by location. Boats at harbors farther away, from Marina del Rey to Newport Beach, are planned on request.

Who approves repairs on fleet boats?

The person you name in the contract, for example your fleet or operations manager. Every repair is quoted in writing before work starts.
