Starter Solenoid Replacement & Wiring Check
Reliable Starts
Every Time.
Hearing a "click" instead of a roar? It might not be the starter motor. We diagnose and repair solenoids and wiring to get you back on the water.
Solenoid vs. Starter
The solenoid acts as the switch that delivers power to the starter. Often, the expensive starter motor is fine, and only this small, affordable switch needs replacing.
The "Green" Enemy
Corrosion inside battery cables (green copper oxide) increases resistance. We inspect cable ends to ensure full voltage actually reaches the engine.
Voltage Drop Test
We don't guess. We perform a "voltage drop test" under load to scientifically determine exactly where the power is being lost in the circuit.
Diagnostic & Repair.
Pinpointing the failure before replacing parts.
Load Test
We test your batteries first. A weak battery can mimic a bad starter. We verify you have the cold cranking amps (CCA) needed.
Isolate
We measure voltage at the solenoid input and output. If power goes in but doesn't come out, the solenoid is the culprit.
Replace
We remove the faulty unit and install a new OEM-spec marine solenoid (ignition protected) with clean connections.
Verify
We check the wiring for heat spots during cranking and apply dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion.
Power Restored.
No more crossing your fingers when you turn the key.
Marine Grade Only.
Automotive parts spark and corrode. We use certified marine components.
Common Questions
Why do I just hear a click?
The "click" is the solenoid engaging, but the internal contacts are likely burnt, preventing the high current from reaching the starter motor.
Can't I just use a car solenoid?
No. Marine solenoids are sealed to prevent sparks that could ignite fuel vapors in the bilge. Automotive parts are a fire hazard.
