Sinking & Salvage Restoration Estimates
Rising from
the Depths.
Saltwater is the ultimate destroyer. Once a vessel is raised, the clock starts ticking. We provide immediate preservation and the hard numbers you need to decide: restore it, or write it off?
The 24-Hour Rule
Once oxygen hits a submerged engine, corrosion accelerates by 1000%. We perform emergency "pickling"—flushing the engine with oil and diesel—to save the block before rust sets in.
Wire Wicking
Saltwater wicks up inside copper wires like a straw, corroding connections feet away from the water line. We assess the electrical harness to see if a total rewire is necessary.
Constructive Total Loss?
Sometimes, the repair cost exceeds the value. We provide the brutal honesty and the detailed spreadsheets required by insurance to declare a "Constructive Total Loss."
Salvage Protocol.
From underwater to dry dock assessment.
Stabilize (Pickle)
Immediate extraction of water from cylinders and crankcase. We fill the engine with diesel/oil mix to stop flash rust instantly.
De-Water & Dry
We pump out the bilge, remove soaked cushions and carpet to halt mold growth, and set up industrial dehumidifiers.
Assess Systems
We test the starter, alternator, and ECM. We check fuel tanks for water intrusion. We scope the hull for the cause of sinking.
The Estimate
You get a comprehensive quote covering mechanical rebuild, electrical replacement, and cosmetic restoration.
The Harsh Reality.
Expert analysis of salt damage.
Assessment Scope.
We check every system affected by submersion.
Common Questions
Is it worth fixing?
If the water level reached the dashboard/electronics, it is often a total loss. If it was only the bilge/engine room, it is often salvageable. We help you do the math.
What is "Pickling"?
Pickling is the process of displacing water with oil. We drain the water-contaminated oil, fill the engine with diesel and oil, and crank it (without starting) to coat internal surfaces.
