- Vacuum flush system seals and service for systems that lose vacuum or run on their own.

Questions about marine toilet repair
Why does my boat smell even after I clean the head?
Sanitation hose lets odor through its walls as it ages. Rub a damp cloth on the hose, then smell the cloth. If it smells, the hose is permeated and replacing it is usually the fix. A blocked holding tank vent can also cause odor.
What can go into a marine toilet?
Only human waste and toilet paper, ideally a paper that breaks down quickly. Wipes and paper towels are a common cause of clogs in marine toilets and macerator pumps.

#1032 Common question asks
Can proper hose maintenance improve the performance of my holding tank?
-

Yes. Old hoses build up scale inside, which narrows them and can lead to clogs; new hoses flow freely and keep odor from coming through the walls. A clear vent also helps the tank smell less.
-
-

#1030 Common question asks
Do you also provide odor control services during hose replacement?
-

Yes. Along with new hose, we clear the vent line, fit a charcoal vent filter and can treat the tank with a marine odor control product. Odor that comes through permeated hoses only stops when those hoses are replaced.

-

#1028 Common question asks
How often should holding tank hoses be replaced?
-

Check the hoses every year with the rag test. Standard vinyl hose often needs replacing after 3-5 years; low-permeation rubber hose lasts longer, so replace it when the rag test, a crack or a hard spot says so.
-
-

#1026 Common question asks
Can old hoses cause leaks or system failures?
-

Yes, cracked or hardened hoses can leak, allowing waste or odors to escape. Timely hose replacement prevents damage to the boat and maintains reliable operation of the holding tank.
-
-

#1024 Common question asks
How can I control odors in my holding tank between services?
-

Pump out the tank regularly and rinse it with fresh water, keep the vent clear, and use a marine holding tank treatment if you like. Chemicals help with the tank contents, but they cannot stop odor coming through permeated hoses.
-
-

#1022 Common question asks
What does holding tank hose replacement include?
-

We remove the old hoses, check the fittings and clamps, and install low-permeation sanitation hose with new stainless clamps. Then we test the system for leaks and check that the tank vents freely.
-
-

#1020 Common question asks
Why am I getting bad odors from my holding tank?
-

Bad odors usually come from permeated hoses, a blocked or undersized vent, or waste buildup inside the tank. We find which one it is, with a rag test on the hoses and a check of the vent, before recommending a fix.

-

#1018 Common question asks
Can maintaining the macerator pump improve overall sanitation system performance?
-

Absolutely. Regular maintenance ensures smooth pumping, prevents clogs, reduces odors, and keeps your marine sanitation system efficient and reliable.
-
-

#1016 Common question asks
Do you also troubleshoot macerator pump problems?
-

Yes, we diagnose issues such as clogs, electrical problems, or improper flow, and provide repair or replacement solutions to restore reliable operation.
-
-

#1014 Common question asks
How often should a macerator pump be inspected or serviced?
-

We recommend checking the pump and its hoses once a year, and sooner if it gets noisy, pumps slowly, leaks or trips its breaker. Boats that are used a lot may need checks more often.
