Powerhead Swap & Remanufactured Installation
New Life for
Your Outboard.
A blown engine doesn't mean you need to spend $30,000 on a new motor. We swap your damaged block for a premium Remanufactured Powerhead, keeping your existing controls and lower unit to save you thousands.
Reman vs. New
New outboards are expensive and often on backorder. A Remanufactured Powerhead is a factory-rebuilt core (new pistons, bearings, and machining) that performs like new for 50% of the cost.
Warranty Included
We partner with top-tier suppliers like OBR and Jasper Marine. These units typically come with a 1-year to 3-year parts and labor warranty, giving you peace of mind that a local "bench rebuild" can't offer.
Expert "Dressing"
The block is new, but the skill is in the transfer. We meticulously clean and transfer your fuel injection, alternator, and starter systems, replacing any gaskets or sensors that caused the original failure.
The Swap Process.
Precision extraction and installation.
Diagnostics
We first determine *why* the old engine blew (e.g., lean fuel injector, broken oil pump) to ensure we don't ruin the new one.
Extraction
We hoist the damaged powerhead off the mid-section. All reusable external components (ECU, VST, Intake) are stripped and ultrasonically cleaned.
Installation
The remanufactured block is mounted with a new base gasket. We "dress" the engine, installing the cleaned components with new seals.
Break-In
Crucial step. We perform the initial double-oil break-in procedure (if 2-stroke) or variable RPM run-in to seat the piston rings correctly.
Back on the Water.
A new engine for half the price.
We Service Majors.
Specialized tooling for top brands.
Common Questions
What actually comes with a "Powerhead"?
It is the engine block, crankshaft, pistons, and heads assembled. It does *not* include the fuel system, electronics, starter, or cowling. We transfer those from your old motor.
How long does it take?
Reman blocks are often in stock or ship within days. The installation typically takes 10-15 hours of labor. You are usually back on the water in 2 weeks, versus months for a new motor order.
