Mechanical Symphony

Balanced Power.
Perfect Harmony.

For multi-carburetor engines, close enough isn't good enough. We use precision instruments to synchronize airflow and fuel delivery, ensuring every cylinder pulls its weight for smooth, explosive power.

Vacuum Balancing

The heart of the process. We connect precision manometers (vacuum gauges) to each intake manifold. We adjust the throttle plates until all cylinders draw the exact same amount of vacuum at idle and off-idle.

Linkage Synchronization

Once balanced at idle, we ensure they stay balanced on acceleration. We meticulously adjust the mechanical throttle linkage rods and arms so all carburetors open at the precise same moment and rate.

Mixture Tuning

Balancing airflow is only half the battle. We individually tune the idle mixture screws on each carburetor to achieve the highest possible vacuum and smoothest idle for that specific cylinder set.

The Tuning Protocol.

A methodical approach to perfection.

01

Baseline Health Check

You can't tune a sick engine. We first verify ignition timing, compression, and check for vacuum leaks. Carbs must be clean before they can be synced.

02

Gauge Hookup

We warm up the engine and connect our multi-channel manometer set to the vacuum ports on each carburetor or intake runner.

03

Idle & Linkage Adjust

With the engine running, we adjust the base idle screws to level the vacuum readings across all gauges, then lock down the connecting linkage.

04

Final Verification

We snap the throttle to ensure the gauges return to a balanced state and perform a load test to verify smooth, synchronized power delivery.

Precision in Action.

Common Questions

How do I know if my carbs are out of sync?

Common symptoms include a lumpy or rolling idle, stalling when putting it in gear, poor throttle response off the line, and one bank of cylinders running hotter than another.

Do I need this done after a rebuild?

Yes, absolutely. Any time carburetors are removed, disassembled, or rebuilt, their mechanical settings change. Synchronization is the mandatory final step of a proper rebuild.
